The Space Coast Early Intervention Center (SCEIC) will host the 3rd Annual Cycle Jam for the Kids on Sunday, April 22. Last year’s event attracted 350 participants and raised over $55,000 for the children and families of SCEIC!
The Cycle Jam, presented by JD Bowen Financial Group, is a fully-supported bicycle ride through scenic Brevard County and will be held on the campus of Florida Institute of Technology.
Registration opens at 6:00 a.m. Riders may choose from four distances:
- English Century (100 mile)
- Metric Century (62 mile)
- Third Century (33 mile)
- Family Fun Ride (10 mile)
The cost to enter is $40 per person before April 22 and $45 on ride day. Children 10 and under participating in the Family Fun ride are $20 before event day and $25 on ride day.
A post-ride “jam” will take place from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at Florida Tech’s Crawford Greene with food sponsors Long Doggers, Broken Barrel Tavern and Corey’s Bagels, plus live music and a kid’s play area. Other sponsors include Climatic Refrigeration and A/C, Harris Corporation, Nash and Kromash, The Running Zone, J & S Cyclery, Doug Emerick Lawn Service, GrayRobinson and Revolutions Cyclery. SCEIC is currently seeking Cycle Jam riders & volunteers.
Riders can pre-register online. Riders have the option to fundraise with many incentive prizes for top fundraisers. Last year’s top fundraiser walked away with a brand new iPad! Raise $350 and receive a groovy Cycle Jam event cycling jersey!
Volunteers can email or call (321) 729-6858 for more information. SCEIC is a non-profit therapeutic preschool for children with and without special needs. SCEIC believes that children with and without developmental delays learning side-by-side allows all children to develop friendships, become leaders, role models, and learn acceptance and diversity.
