When I woke up Saturday to a sunny day and thought of how I should spend it, “Eco-Festival” isn’t exactly the first thing that came to mind, but it was only $1 to get in and I had my best friend with me (who happens to be 5 years old) so we decided to check it out. We headed over to Kiwanis Island for the Sykes Creek Adventures Eco-Festival and actually had a blast! He got to pet snakes that were larger than him, make paintings, go on bounce houses and had great conversation with a talking boat robot. Then we got into the “big kid” fun and had some snow cones, went on a boat ride and went kayaking out on the river. The water was flat and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, it was truly beautiful! And that was all before noon so we still had the rest of the day to enjoy!
