Park Profile: Westwind Park and Eastwind Park

There are no less than 108 parks in Brevard County, all of them free and fun for the whole family. Every so often, Brevard Happening profiles one (or in this case, two) of these community gems.

This week: Westwind Park, 5950 Tavistock Dr. and its neighbor, Eastwind Park at 5955 Tavistock Dr. in Viera.

West Wind Park Entrance Sign

Looking for parks in Viera where you can bring young children? Westwind Park is designed with toddlers in mind. A sign at the front entrance recommends the park for children aged two to five. It’s entirely fenced in with play structures small enough that parents can relax, knowing their little ones can run and climb on a playground just their size.

So sunny! And such a bright and wonderful play structure!

Westwind Park also has baby swings, a seesaw, and an awesome covered picnic table so your family can take a break from playing and share some snacks in the shade. Westwind is proof that if its a park in Viera, it’s going to be clean, welcoming and fun.

If kids are looking over your shoulder, they're asking to go here now.

Directly across the street (how convenient!), you’ll find another of Viera’s parks: Eastwind Park.

Looks a lot like the Westwind sign, doesn't it? Hmm...

Eastwind Park is designed for slightly older children, with a sign recommending the playground for children aged three and up. It features a giant play structure with enough climbing opportunities to keep your adventurer busy for a whole afternoon. Other amenities include a beautiful covered pavilion with picnic tables and restrooms.

The folks who maintain this park should win an award. Beautiful!

If you’re looking for less adventure and more relaxation, Eastwind Park is also the place to go for a leisurely swing with a peaceful lake view.

Kids love to be asked if they think they can jump over the lake.

Just minutes from shopping, restaurants, Brevard County government and Space Coast Stadium, Westwind and Eastwind Parks are sure to be a hit with your family. These Viera parks are wonderful!

Another Viera park you may be interested in: Suseda Park.
