The strange thing about summer in Florida is that it seems to end earlier but last longer, if that makes any sense. Anyway, as our summer here in Brevard comes to a close (once the back-to-school stuff comes out, that’s it), there’s no shortage of great things to do. Check out this week’s list and take part. A fun beach day and barbecue that raises money for Candlelighters of Brevard, an organization that provides financial and emotional assistance for local families with children battling cancer

Event will feature the Space Coast Iceplex’s national champion and the world-qualifying Theatre on Ice teams. Bring a jacket.

Ice Cream Social and School Supply Drive
2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Viera Home Discovery Center
The complimentary ice cream is a bonus. The real gift is how you feel when you donate school supplies for the kids of Devereux School.
