Who says kids have all the fun over the summer? While school is out of session, teachers are invited to play in the clay at Outlaw Pottery School while learning new techniques to take back to school in the fall.

COURSE: This week long summer camp has been designed for beginner and intermediate K-12 art teachers who want to expand their knowledge of pottery and/or earn in-service credits. Teachers will come away with project ideas and skills to incorporate into their classroom during the school year. Rosalie Outlaw, will teach projects using hand-building techniques such as slab, pinch, coil and sculpture. The workshop will also include clay stamp-making and utilization, textural enhancement techniques, advanced glaze projects, as well as tricks and tips to avoid warping, cracking and explosions. The week will end with a special Raku Pottery firing where teachers will be able to try glaze techniques on Raku pottery that they made the first day of class.
