On Friday, February 24, 2017, from 6 pm to 9pm, the Downtown Art Gallery in Titusville will hold a reception welcoming a new gallery artist, Eric Pineiro. A life long artist, Eric eventually found his calling working with metal: copper, bronze, brass and steel. His earliest work depicted Florida fauna, wildlife and marine-scapes. His functional work includes doors, fountains, tables, architectural railings and gates. In addition to wrought iron work, he combines materials found in scrap yards and thrift shops repurposed into sculptures. His freestanding pieces range from whimsical to impassioned statements influenced by nature and the tribal Taino art of his native Puerto Rico.
Eric joins 14 other artists who exhibit at the gallery in a variety of techniques, including painting, photography, digital art, woodworking , jewelry, and basketry. The wine and cheese reception is an opportunity to talk to Eric and the other artists.
The Downtown Art Gallery is located at 335 S. Washington Ave., in Titusville. Regular hours are Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturday from 11 to 3.
