Hey local film buffs! Come celebrate the talent in your own backyard at the fifth annual 15-Minutes of Fame Film Festival.
This free, two-day indie film festival is coming to Cocoa Beach November 9th and 10th. The “15-Minutes of Fame” film festival, now in its fifth year, was established by Ray and Migdalia Etheridge to showcase the hard work of independent filmmakers whose projects often go unnoticed by the general public.
The Etheridges report that they received over 100 films, submitted by aspiring filmmakers from throughout Florida, and around the world. Films were graded by a panel of five judges on their technical merits, script development, acting, and entertainment value. Fifty films with the highest scores have been selected for the program, including several local films. Fourteen filmmakers will receive “certificates for excellence”, in categories such as cinematography and editing.
The films in the festival are from 2 to 27 minutes in length. Included are documentaries, comedy, drama, animation, and some foreign films.
The two-day festival is Saturday, November 9th, and Sunday, November 10th, and is open to the public free of charge. It will be held at the International Palms Resort, 1300 North Atlantic Ave, (A1A), in Cocoa Beach.
