After a few morning showers, Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day and the Strawberry Festival was a great way to spend it.
First of all, let’s talk about the food! I didn’t try too much, so I can’t exactly speak to the quality, but the selection was very impressive. We actually had to have a group “meeting spot” since everyone went off in their own direction to get some grub. We then walked off all those empty calories while checking out the car show and craft area, which were both so large we didn’t even get to fully walk around both. But it was great to see a little bit of everything, from decked out Mustangs to children at the festival making dancing head videos to Justin Bieber music! No, I’m not kidding.
Lastly, we visited the Kid’s Korner, as you can see it wasn’t just for kids! Again, I was pretty impressed here, they had quite a variety of things for kids to play. There were 4 or 5 bounce houses, a rock wall for climbing, face paintings and a lot of games to play where they could get “Kids Kash” if they won the game, which they could turn in at the prize booth for toys and such.
Being that the event was to raise money for charity, it wasn’t exactly cheap, but it was nice paying for entertainment and knowing the money was going towards a great cause!
