Get Social Brevard is celebrating its second birthday with a party at the King Center. Made up of enthusiastic, community-minded social media enthusiasts working together to make the Space Coast an even better place to live, the group is holding a Birthday Bash and Social Media Fair to celebrate the special occasion.
Founded in 2010, Get Social Brevard has grown into a dynamic organization built on four major pillars: Social Media, Education, Networking and Philanthropy. The organization hosts monthly meetings dedicated to educating attendees on the various social media tools and platforms. Funds raised through ticket sales, door prize raffles and silent auctions are used to benefit the 2012 Focus Charities:
- The Brevard Zoo
- Special Olympics Brevard
- Devereux Florida
- The Women’s Center
- Brevard Alzheimer’s Association—Joe’s Club
- Promise In Brevard
The Get Social Brevard Birthday Bash will be held on Sept. 13, from 6-8 p.m. at the King Center Rotunda. Guests will receive a red carpet photo opportunity upon arrival as well as an opportunity to have a professional profile picture taken that can be used for their Social Media profiles. There will be a Social Media Fair with local experts providing one-on-one training on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, blogging and Pinterest.
The event will also feature door prizes and a silent auction. Fine food and drinks will be provided by several of the top area restaurants and representatives from the six Focus Charities will be in attendance to spread awareness of how they benefit our community. Tickets for the event are $15 and will include food, one drink ticket and one raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets will be available for $2 each or 3 for $5.
